My Top 5 Favorite Movies

1. Marmoulak 
   - Kamal Tabrizi
A movie that combines deep religious meaning with a sweet  heart touching comedy.
Its a story of a thief being wrongly taken as the Mullah of the mosque,
He ends up becoming an unconventional preacher that changes the life of his followers,
Its a situation comedy, that provides  good genuine doses of humor, And deep meaning to the essence of religion and its teaching.
Its directed by Kamal Tabrizi.



2. Satyakam 
 - Hrishikesh Mukherjee

Hrishikesh Mukherjee gave us many brilliant comedy and drama movies,
But none had such a great social message and reflected society as well as Satyakam did, 
Its a story of an Engineer who fancies a better and more just India after Independence from British rule,
But to his disbelief he is asked to make dishonest compromises,
He refuses to give up and lives a respectful, but a hard life.
This has been considered as the finest acting performance of Dharmendra's Career.

3. Le notti di Cabiria
- Federico Fellini

Directed by Federico Fellini, Nigths of Cabiria is a story of a prostitute,
who refuses to give up hope of finding true love, even after facing heartbreak,
Its a critical analysis of how society judges a person by his/her occupation,
The movie beautifully displays the desire for love in a woman's heart,
Glulietta Masina, totally fits into the role.
The finishing sequence of the movie is a true cinematic experience, highly unconventional and beautiful .

4. Anatomy of a Murder
    - Otto Preminger
A courtroom  drama featuring James Stewart and George C Scott on opposite sides,,leading to a great cinematic experience, 
Its based on the novel of the same name by John D Voelker.
The intensity of the court room arguments is very high, and keeps one glued to it,
Movie has a pinch of mystery in it, that keeps one hooked till the end.
Its a treat for any intellectual, and the charm of James Stewart only adds to it.

5. La vita è bella  
  - Roberto Bengini
One of modern times master pieces, 
Roberto Bengini directed as well as performed the leading role, deserves majority of the accolades for this masterpiece, 
The movie is as beautiful as its title, It teaches one to be optimistic and happy irrespective of the conditions prevailing,
It shows the Jews Tragedy under Nazi rule with a new angle,
Movie is filled with many beautiful heart touching scenes,
